PPS Homes, LLC Rental Move Out Preparation Checklist

Our rental move out preparation checklist is to serve as a guideline. It is impossible to outline every individual feature of every home we manage. It is expected that homes be left in pre-rental condition. If at any time you have questions, please give us a call at 253-426-3005 or email support@ppshomes.net.

Cleaning

  • Vacuum, sweep and mop floors throughout house, including under all appliances.
  • Wipe down/clean all counters and back splash surfaces throughout house.
  • Clean all sinks, tubs, showers and toilets.
  • Wipe down/clean inside and outside of all cabinets, including inside drawers.
  • Clean/dust baseboard moldings throughout house.
  • Cobwebs removed throughout house.
  • Light fixtures and ceiling fans cleaned/dusted.
  • Vent covers cleaned/dusted.
  • Windows, sills and tracks cleaned.
  • Blinds dusted.
  • Fingerprints and marks cleaned from walls, chrome pieces, mirrors, doors and light switch plates.
  • Clean inside and outside of all appliances. Dump ice and clean filter in stove top hood.
  • Remove all personal property from the property.
  • Professional Carpet Cleaning (please leave receipt on counter.) *Pet fee goes toward “Additional” carpet cleaning. *

Maintenance

  • Check light bulbs to make sure they work, replace burnt out bulbs.
  • Check smoke and CO detector batteries to make sure they work, replace dead batteries.
  • Check and change furnace filter, if dirty.
  • Replace worn/dirty drip pans.
  • Replace water filter in refrigerator, if due.
  • Mow and clean up yard.
  • Leave house with EMPTY garbage cans.
  • Do not spackle or paint without permission. If it is not done to a professional quality, you will be charged to have it redone.

Other To-Do

  • Schedule a time to turn in keys. Please schedule ahead so we can get you on the calendar.
    • It is expected that you are done moving out and cleaning and are ready to turn in keys
      at this appointment. Failure to be ready and/or reschedule prior to us arriving will result
      in a $100 missed appointment fee and possible additional day’s rent.
    • All leases end on the last day of the month at 12:00pm unless otherwise noted.
  • Provide PPS Homes a forwarding address.
  • Call utility companies.
    • Utilities should remain in your name until after keys are turned in. *Turning off utilities
      early can result in you being charged reconnection fees.
    • All utility accounts should be paid current and in full.
    • DO NOT have utilities turned off, they should be put back in the owner’s name. If this cannot be done, please let us know right away!
